Administering your one-word subscription

You can administer your subscription to the one-word (or one-word-weekly) mailing list through the Web. You will need to log in using your email address and one-word (or one-word-weekly) password.

How to obtain your one-word password

If you don't know your password, go to the one-word list information page at http://one-word.cs.cf.ac.uk/ and scroll to the bottom of the page. In the "One-word Subscribers" section there's a button labelled "Unsubscribe or edit options". Click the button.

This takes you to the member options page. Fill in your email address in the field at the start of the page, and scroll down to the "Remind" button at the bottom of the page. Click the button and your password will be sent to you.

Pick up the password from your email, and copy it into the "Password" field on the member options page. Click "Login".

Membership Configuration

Once logged-in, you will be on the membership configuration page. Here you can

Changing how you receive messages sent to the list

You can use the subscription options to change how you receive the list.

a) to receive messages as soon as they are sent -
set "Mail delivery" to "Enabled"
set "Set Digest Mode" to "Off"
b) to receive messages once a day -
set "Mail delivery" to "Enabled"
set "Set Digest Mode" to "On"
c) to receive messages once a week -
set "Mail delivery" to "Disabled"
leave "Set Digest Mode" as "Off" or "On" (doesn't matter)
Subscribe to the one-word-weekly list at http://mailman.cs.cf.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/one-word-weekly.
Note: one-word-weekly subscriptions are automatically digest-based and the digests are sent once a week. One-word-weekly does not accept direct mailings, it simply makes weekly digests of the one-word list. You must be a member of one-word to submit postings to the discussion list.
d) To stop receiving the list while remaining a member -
set "Mail delivery" to "Disabled"
leave "Set Digest Mode" as "Off" or "On" (doesn't matter)
This will stop the list from sending you emails. This is useful if, for example, you are going to be away from your email for a while. You can read the list at your convenience on the Web at http://mailman.cs.cf.ac.uk/pipermail/one-word/ (or go to http://one-word.cs.cf.ac.uk/ and click on "visit the One-word Archive").
